Three days to default

WASHINGTON (AP) There are just 3 days left before the US government hits the borrowing limit.

Sunday night talks in the Senate ended with no deal.

Senators will be meeting again today at 2:00 p.m. EDT to continue discussions.

A bi-partisan group is still trying to hash out a plan to open the government and raise the debt ceiling.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says Republicans are still treating re-opening the government as a "concession,"

Democrats are demanding a "clean" bill that funds the government and raises the debt ceiling -- no strings attached.

Senate Republicans blocked such a measure, this weekend, and House Republican leaders say the President has rejected their proposal for a 6-week extension of the debt ceiling.
