Grand Junction, Colo (KKCO) -- Central High School awarded diplomas to hundreds of students at graduation, but unlike others, one graduate has been waiting 60 years to receive his.

Ed Reed Jr. joined the service in 1943 and was deployed to Europe to defend the country in World War II, which led him to miss his high school graduation.

He was apart of the 82nd Airborne, 79th Infantry Division and 2nd Armored Division.

Now, decades later he joined his granddaughter, Destinee Reed who also graduated, to finally make that important walk across the stage.
