Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – They say it's better to give than receive, and that's what Project C.U.R.E. Grand Junction is doing.

The organization ships medical supplies overseas to 128 countries in need.

The Grand Junction warehouse has donated 15 semi-truck loads of medical supplies since 2009, adding up to about $46.4 million worth of supplies.

On Monday, Project C.U.R.E. held an open house for volunteers. It was attended by the company's founder, Dr. James Jackson, and his wife, Anna Marie.

"I think the greatest fulfillment in your life is going to come through giving back and so that's what we are finding," Dr. Jackson said. "So what we're sharing with other people is the joy of actually, not just consuming, but being able to share that with other people so that everybody is better off."

The organization is always in need of volunteers. They meet every Thursday at the Grand Junction warehouse from 9 a.m. to noon.
