GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Today saw many firsts for 2013, but one local family is celebrating a very special first New Year's Day.
Dusty and Airin Moots are the proud parents of the first Grand Junction baby of 2013.
Airibella was born this morning at 3:58, weighing five pounds, 12 ounces.
Airibella must have wanted to be the first New Year's baby because her due date wasn't set for almost another month.
The couple already has three young daughters, and just like Airibella, they were all born early.
"All of our girls came early, so it's just always the feeling of relief that she's here and she's okay," said Dusty Moots.
The staff at the local hospital was pleased to have a baby born today.
Last year, not one baby was born on January 1.
