Grand Valley businesses get a boost from basketball fans

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Now that the final spots in the 'sweet 16' have been secured, it's time to find the perfect place to enjoy the madness.

Many Grand Valley businesses are catering to basketball enthusiasts with some great deals on food and drink during March Madness.

However, the perks of watching the game at a local bar or restaurant go beyond the drink specials.

"You get to be with other people that are supporting your same team and then you just find common interests and you make new friends and you know these people before had never met and now they're here together," says Rockslide server Jasmine Poeppel.

Many bar and restaurant managers say being around everyone gets even the not-so-sport-savvy spectators cheering and screaming.

March Madness runs through April 7th, so you have plenty of time to get in on all the action.
