Grand Junction Police investigate death near downtown

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - According to Grand Junction Police, around 6:00 Wednesday morning, a woman walking to work spotted a man lying unconscious and facedown in the snow.

When emergency responders arrived, they determined he had died sometime during the morning. Authorities say he had probably been walking southbound on the 200 block between Ouray and Chipeta Avenue.

Police have blocked the area off. They say his items have been found in a 50 foot area around the body. Investigators are canvassing the neighborhood, asking people if they saw anything in the hours leading up to discovery of the body.
