PAONIA, Colo. A 27-year-old Hotchkiss man is dead after an 18-year-old failed to stop and hit him head on Tuesday morning.

Colorado State Patrol says Jacob Saunders died at the scene of the crash at the intersection of Stewart Mesa and Crawford Mesa roads.

Troopers say just after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning Brayden Wilson of Hotchkiss failed to stop and hit Saunders.

Wilson was taken to a delta hospital and released with minor injuries.

Neither man was wearing a seat-belt, and troopers say drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in the crash.

It's unclear if Wilson will be cited.
