Grand Junction, Colo (KKCO) --- The Mesa County Health Department was honored for the second time by the National Association of County and City Healthy Officials and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for its ability to respond to public health emergencies.
Emergencies include disease outbreaks and wildfire injuries and staff is trained on how to handle these situations before, during and after they occur.
Project Public Health Ready chose the Mesa County Health Department after meeting standards including; preparedness planning, workforce competency and demonstration of readiness through exercises or response to a real event.
