MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) Even with the unemployment rate dropping, many folks are still asking Santa for a holiday job, but not everyone will get one.

Even four years after the official end of the recession, consumers are hesitant to spend their hard-earned cash; leading many retailers to cut down on their seasonal hiring.

"Typically, September, October, November is a good time of the year in terms of the unemployment rate, it's typically at it's lowest point of the year," says Mesa County Workforce Business Coordinator, Suzie Miller. "We haven't seen such a dramatic impact, we usually expect a lot of hiring."

In response to the increased need, the Mesa County Workforce Center will be holding a fall job fair on October 1st.

About thirty employers will be setting up at the Lincoln Park Auditorium Barn, looking for people to hire.
