GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- After a big name change just last week, it is time for HopeWest Hospice Care to celebrate a rewarding achievement for our Western Colorado community.
HopeWest (formerly known as Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado) is celebrating its 20 year anniversary this evening at Two Rivers Convention Center. Over 350 people gathered to honor the community partners who helped develop the organization.
The HopeWest President says they couldn't have done it without the community.
"We started with one employee and a few volunteers, and to have grown to 300 employees and 1400 volunteers, amazing number of supporters over 41,000 people have donated to hospice over 20 years, it really is the community that has built this program, so it is time to celebrate," said Christy Whitney.
HopeWest has been providing care for Grand Junction since 1993. Also providing services through Mesa, Delta, Montrose and Ouray counties.
