Hospice looking for 100 new volunteers

Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) - It's not to late to work on those New Year's resolutions. If getting involved in the community is one of your resolutions, Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado have a solution for you.

Right now care facility is looking for 100 new dedicated volunteers. Hospice volunteers play a big part in the care community. Volunteers provide support and companionship to those who need it the most, "probably the biggest thing that they get out of this being able to be assistance to somebody during an emotional, sometimes trying time. Being able to provide a service that they can feel good about whether that's like I said reading or companionship or whatever that might be," says Sheryl Click, director of volunteer services.

Experts say most volunteers spend 2 – 4 hours a week volunteering. Volunteer hours are flexible to work with your schedule.

You can get in touch to volunteer with Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado at 970-257-2378.
