DEBEQUE, Colo. (KKCO) -- Traffic could be slow going on I-70 through DeBeque Canyon Monday as crews work to avoid future rockslides.
The Colorado Department of Transportation will be doing some rockfall mitigation work from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
While that is going on, the right lane of eastbound traffic will be shut down, but that's not all.
There will be times both eastbound lanes will be shut down, and the interstate could shut down in both directions if they need to do any scaling work.
CDOT says they will do their best to keep it to a minimum, but you should plan some extra time to get through the area.
