GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) This Thursday was the last night of the Grand Junction annual farmer’s market. The 15 week event on average draws close to 5,000 people who enjoy shopping and checking out the various vendors.

For the last night of the farmers market, the 4th annual Men in Heels race was held. The race is a fundraiser for Hilltop’s Latimer House.

The Latimer House is dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence. This year's race was a special one, because earlier this year someone stole many pairs of the large high heels.

This year's Men in Heels race featured 17 teams in 8 heats, and various community groups participated in the event such as the Grand Junction Police Department. Runners had to pass a purse to their teammate instead of a baton as part of the relay race.
