GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. It's been a successful year for the Latino Chamber of Commerce and Wednesday night the group celebrated their first anniversary.
The Latino Chamber started with ten people around a table and now they're up to 56 members.
As a way to recognize their achievements over the past year, members gathered at the Double Tree by Hilton in Grand Junction for food, drinks, door prizes and live music.
Officials say the Latino Chamber is beneficial for boosting local businesses.
"One of our tag lines is that we're building bridges, we're trying to connect the non-Hispanic businesses with the Hispanic consumer and vice-versa," said Louise Goodman, the President of the Latino Chamber of Commerce.
A special guest speaker, Greg Lopez, The Colorado District Director for the U.S. Small Business Administration spoke at the anniversary event. Latino Chamber officials also say the celebration was a great way for members to meet each other and network.
