MESA COUNTY, Colo (KKCO) __ The Colorado State Patrol Trooper accused of shooting Jason Kemp was sworn in and started taking questions from the prosecution and the jury late Monday afternoon.
KKCO 11 News Reporter Taylor Temby is in courtroom with instant updates. Taylor says Lawyer said, "my duty that day was to protect (the) public".... He also recalled a conversation with a ride along passenger that day, talking about why he loved his job. He said one reason was because of the interaction with the public. Lawyer specialized in DUIs and said he enjoyed getting drunk drivers off the roads.
The defense didn't ask any questions of the trooper, they just said they were volunteering him for any questions the prosecution or jury had.
