MESA COUNTY, Colo. Wawona Packing Company of Cutler, California is issuing a recall for certain peaches and other fruits sold in City Market's and King Soopers around the United States, including here in Mesa County according to the Mesa County Health Department.
A Listeria Monocytogenes contamination, commonly known as 'Listeria', is the basis for the recall. No illness have yet been linked to this recall to date.
The recall includes both white and yellow peaches, nectarines (white and yellow), plums and pluots packed between June 1 and July 12. The PLU sticker on the recalled fruit will say "Sweet 2 Eat" and have any of these UPC codes: 4044, 4038, 4401, 4378, 4036, 3035, 4042, 4040, 3278, 3609, 3611 and 4440.

The recall was issued after internal company testing, and Wawona has shut down the implicated packing lines, retrofitted equipment, sanitized the facility and retested. Those retests have all been negative.
