Local high schools holding blood drive

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – A local hospital will be at Central High School on Tuesday Oct. 23 and at R-5 High School on Wednesday Oct. 24 for blood donations. Each school year, students have been educated on the importance of donating blood to their school.

Our local high schools always have a great turn out. The two competitions between the high schools include the single largest blood drive and the most participation throughout the school year. Currently, Fruita Monument High School has the trophy for the single largest blood drive last year with 85 donors. Palisade High School has the trophy for the most participation throughout the year with 41% of their Junior/Senior student body donating.
