Local impact of ObamaCare

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. A gathering hosted by Freedom! Colorado at the Grand Junction City Hall Thursday evening allowed attendees to discuss the future impacts of ObamaCare and what they called 'blatant lies' about the new healthcare laws.

The night started with an overview of several issues locals have dealt with, including the inability to keep a previous plan or doctor, and the website issues that plagued the initial release.

But attendees say this is just the beginning of problems to come.

"I think the one thing that's really important is we don't know what's coming down the pike yet," says Grand Junction Resident, Karen Kulp. "After the large employer group expires next year we're going to have major major problems."

Neuro-surgeon at St. Mary's hospital Dr. Larry Tice discussed the impact ObamaCare will have on doctors, the public and the government in the near future.

This week, the government announced that 4-million people have now signed up for ObamaCare, with 700,000 signing up in February alone.

The recently released numbers are fairly vague however, and don't come with any demographic information.

A more complete report is scheduled to be released in mid-March.

The new goal is to have 6-million Americans sign up, down from their original projection of 7-million.
