MESA COUNTY, Colo. A lot drawing Tuesday decided the order of the names of the candidates on the ballot.

Candidates for the Mesa County Commissioner, Clerk and Recorder, Assessor and Sheriff all rolled dice to figure out where they would land. The person with the highest number rolled will be the first position on the ballot.

Write-in candidates for Mesa County Sheriff weren't included in the lot drawing.

The elections office doesn't have certified ballot content yet with the state races and questions, but will receive that on September 8th to get the ballots ready to send out by October 14th.

Officials encourage all eligible residents to get out and vote.
