Man arrested after woman shot to death in Denver

DENVER (AP) -- Authorities say a man suspected of shooting a woman to death at a home near downtown Denver has been arrested.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says officers were called after shots were fired at the home in the Capitol Hill area at about 11:50 p.m. Friday. The woman, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, and Clifford Dee Fordyce is being held for investigation of first-degree murder.

The Denver Post reports (http://bit.ly/TRtWMA) Fordyce has an extensive criminal record dating to 1990. He has been arrested for numerous assaults, various drug offenses, several weapons charges and multiple burglaries across the Denver metro area.

Police are investigating the motive for Friday's shooting.

Why is this criminal not in jail? This is a clear example why if you can own a gun, we should be able to carry concealed without a special permit. The same as all the surrounding states allow.
