DENVER (AP) A 46-year-old man has been arrested on charges of murder and assault in the shooting deaths of two people and the wounding of a third in the Black Forest neighborhood northeast of Colorado Springs.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Department says Kenneth Lankford was arrested Sunday after an intensive search.
Authorities say 51-year-old Terry Lankford and 51-year-old Carol Joan Fowler were killed Saturday. Their bodies were found in separate houses. Fifty-two-year-old Thomas Edwyn Fowler was wounded.
The Colorado Springs Gazette identified the Lankfords and Fowlers as spouses.
Kenneth Lankford was being held without bail at the El Paso County jail. Online records didn't indicate whether he had an attorney.
Investigators haven't publicly discussed a motive.
In June, a wildfire in the Black Forest killed two people and destroyed 488 homes.
