GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. This week health care providers around the state have a reason to celebrate, it's the fifth annual safety net clinic week.

Safety net clinics, like Grand Junction's Marillac Clinic, provide services for patients who are uninsured, under-insured, or low-income.

This week clinics are promoting awareness about the services they offer as well as recognizing employees that make their services possible.

"Access to healthcare is very important. we all want to be healthy and productive and healthy in our community and to lead healthy lives and we can provide that," says Kristy Schmidt of the Marillac Clinic.

The Marillac Clinic has expanded their eligibility for customers they can serve, the clinic will now take anyone with medicaid, anyone who is uninsured, self-paid or even Rocky Mountain Health plans.

Their goal is to continue to grow and meet the community's needs.
