Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) - Various artists got an inside look at how powerful marketing can be for their craft.

A seminar called Marketing Muscle for Artists was held Thursday night at the Blue Pig Gallery in Palisade.

The seminar-- hosted by Dianna Frizzle-- focused on different marketing tools artists can use to promote their work. Different options such as using the internet and other social media were explored.

Those in attendance say it's important to have this knowledge, especially in a tough economy.

“We have to get creative in how we sell our product. We have to get creative in how we get our product out and make it special and make it stand out to what other artists do,” said Stephanie Reynolds, a jewelry maker.

Oakley Gallery will be displaying some of the artists work from the class on Oct. 5.

The gallery opens at 5:30 p.m. and is located at 602 Main Street in Grand Junction.
