GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Pro-life advocates across the country and right here in Grand Junction marked the 41st anniversary of the Supreme Court's Roe vs. Wade decision.

The landmark decision affirmed women's right to abortions on this date in 1973.

Mesa county right to life advocates attended a candlelight vigil and a walk for life at the old county courthouse.

"This rally here tonight connects with rallies all across the country during this week," says Mesa County Right to Life president, Carl Malito. "So it's a chance for those who are supportive of life here in the valley to gather to rally and to take a stand for life."

A 2013 Gallup poll showed that 52% of Americans support access to legal abortions under certain circumstances, wth 26% holding it should always be legal and 20% in favor of an outright ban.
