MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) A body scanning device will no longer require inmates checking in at the Mesa County Jail to endure strip searches.
Mesa County Facilities approved the $195,000 body scanner after a recent remodeling project came out under budget.
The machine will detect drugs, weapons, cigarettes and other items prohibited in the jail.
The body scanner will arrive for use in more than eight weeks.
