Mesa County, Colo (KKCO) -- The Mesa County Administrator is leaving her post.
In brief news release sent on Tuesday night, the county announced the departure of Chantal Unfug, who has been in the position since April of 2011.
Tom Fisher has been appointed as interim Administrator "as the county progresses through the next few months," according to the release.
The release goes on to say, " During this time we want to be working together with citizens of our County to solidify the Board’s strategic direction and decide what County leadership will best help the Commissioners reach their goals."
They say Unfug and the County came to a "mutual agreement" on her resignation. They thank her for her service to our citizens.
According to the county's website, the County Administrator reports directly to the three-member Board of Commissioners and serves as a chief executive for the organization. The administrator position is non-political in nature. He or she guides day-to-day operations of the county government, in accordance with the policies, goals and objectives established by the elected Board of Commissioners.
