GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO)-- According to the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder's Office, voter registration numbers are matching 2008, the last presidential election year.

In the first five days of this month, the office saw nearly 4,500 voter registration forms come in. Twenty-five percent of the registrations are coming from the online service. You also might have noticed a state-wide push to encourage Coloradans to register to vote.

"This is the first time I've seen a widespread campaign to get people registered to vote statewide like has been run this year, and I think that a lot of the online registrations are coming from that advertising because they're really pushing people to use that online service," said Sheila Reiner, Mesa County Clerk and Recorder.

To make sure you're registered, go to www.govotecolorado.com. Better hurry if you're not, because the deadline to register in person is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9. It's midnight if you go online.
