Friends of the Mesa County Libraries are requesting donations of good-quality used books, videos, CDs and DVDs for resale at their annual Fall Book Sale on October 18, 19, and 20.
These items can be dropped off anytime at the Friends Book Drop at the First Congregational Church, 1425 N. 5th St., across from Grand Junction High School.
The book drop is located near the parking lot on the west side of the church. All proceeds from the sale go to support programming at Mesa County Libraries.
The Fall Book Sale begins with the members-only sale from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18. Non-members may join Friends for $10 at the door to participate. The public sales takes place 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 on the west side of First Congregational Church.
Friends of the Mesa County Libraries is a nonprofit organization that has provided support for programs at the Mesa County Libraries for nearly 50 years. These include the Summer Reading Program, Mesa County One Book, Poetry Night, Literacy and many other programs. Friends has also provided money for various projects at the new Fruita and Palisade branch libraries and has pledged monies for the Central Library Project.
Friends also raises money through book sales at a Novel Idea Bookstore located in the Central Library, 655 N. 1st St.
