Mesa Mall display brings awareness to domestic violence

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Last year there were more than 900 new cases of domestic violence in Mesa County.

That's why a local safe haven organization is helping to educate the public on this growing problem.

Since October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Hilltop's Latimer House is presenting a display at the Mesa Mall with tons of information for anyone who might be facing violent situations, or just want to pitch in to help stop it.

The display will start off today and stay up through the end of the month.

Stop by the Mesa Mall clock court during regular mall hours to grab take away materials, watch an informative video, and talk to professionals and volunteers who are there to help.
