GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - For the first time since 2009 Colorado is one of 7 states where minimum wage is going up.
2011 brought with it 12 more cents for minimum wage workers.
Those making the minimum will see their hourly wages increase from $7.24 an hour to $7.36.
It doesn't seem like much but over the course of the year it adds up to nearly $230.
The increase comes after a four cent drop in minimum wage last year because of the falling cost of living in the state.
It was the first decrease in any state's minimum wage since 1938.
