DENVER,Colo. Police say a toddler has died after he was reported missing and found near a river in a Denver neighborhood.
Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson tells KMGH-TV that the 3-year-old boy was unresponsive when he was found on the banks of the South Platte River about 15 minutes after being reported missing by his parents at 11:20 a.m. Saturday.
Jackson says the boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Denver police announced on Twitter around 5 p.m. that the boy had died. His name has not been released.
The spokesman tells the station that investigators are talking to the parents and to neighbors and police aren't speculating on whether there was any wrongdoing by the parents.
