MONTOSE, Colo. – Deputies with the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting that occurred during a traffic stop on Feb. 7 at approximately 9 a.m. The shooting took place on Highway 145 on the west end of Montrose County.
Tryllen Richards, age 32 of Naturita Colorado was taken to a local hospital in Grand Junction and is being treated for a single gunshot wound.
Ashley Ware, age 25, was arrested during the incident on a warrant out of Montrose Associate Court for failure to appear in court. Mechelle Lee, age 33, was on a warrant of Montrose Combined Courts for also a failure to appear in court.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the 7th Judicial District Court Team are conducting investigations.
