MONTROSE, Colo. Montrose's Office of Business and Tourism is looking to add more events to the area's calendar to draw in tourists.

"Get the word out about Montrose and have people come out here and enjoy it," said Stacey Ryan of the Office of Business and Tourism. "Help drive tourism dollars our way and just help these events be successful."

The office held a special event summit Tuesday to create more events that bring in visitors to stay overnight and enjoy activities around the area.

More than 40 people sat in on presentations to hear how the office itself can help them plan, advertise and fund events.

Non-profits or businesses can apply for event funding through the office's new program that makes use of lodging taxes and retail enhancement funds.

Montrose will host the Adventure Film Fest April 4th-6th.
