51% voted in favor of recalling John Morse (100% of precincts reporting)

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKCO) John Morse, Colorado's democratic senate president is now out of a job. Joining him is democratic senator Angela Giron.

Both state senators lost recall elections on Tuesday, making way for new senators George Rivera and Bernie Herpin. Sen. George is a former Pueblo police officer who steps in for Giron in Pueblo County. Sen. Herpin is a former Colorado Springs city councilman and he steps in for Morse in Colorado Springs.

Tuesday's elections also exposed divisions between Colorado's growing urban areas and its rural towns. Dozens of elected county sheriffs have sued to block the gun laws and some activists are promoting a largely symbolic measure to secede from the state.
