GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Trying to stretch your dollar by buying bulk items could get a little easier in a couple months as a Washington-based bulk meat company announces it's expanding to Grand Junction.
Zaycon Foods has a unique business model: it sets up booths in parking lots and sells different kinds of meat in bulk.
This company operates all over the country, going to each city about every six weeks.
Here's how it works: customers register on the Zaycon website first.
Then, the company emails you to let you know when they're headed to town and what kind of meat they'll have, so you can decide whether to make a purchase.
"We always say it's the price that brings people in, but really it's the quality that keeps them," said Mike Conrad, manager of Zaycon Foods.
March 6 is the first time Zaycon will be in Grand Junction, setting up in the parking lot of the First Church of the Nazarene on Patterson Road from 8 to 9 a.m.
Customers simply pull up, and employees will load your groceries. You don't even have to get out of your car.
