GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Get ready for some new Public Works projects that could slow traffic in the weeks ahead.
- White Hall demolition
- Waterline replacement
- 22 Road realignment
- 4th Street reconstruction
- 6th Street reconstruction
- Street striping
As crews continue to demolish White Hall, they will close 6th Street between Grand and White avenues, as well as White Avenue between 7th and 6th streets, from Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Ute Water will be replacing a waterline on Patterson Road. For four weeks, traffic will be cut down to one lane in each direction on Patterson between 28 and 28 ¼ roads from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.
One-third of a mile on U.S. Highway 6 between Valley Court and Exit 26 interchange will be under construction as the new intersection is moved 500 feet west of its current location. Traffic will be shifted to the outside edges of the road, keeping two lanes open in both directions. Speed limits will go down to 35 miles per hour.
Drivers will have limited access to the intersection of 4th Street and White Avenue. Heading southbound, traffic will be reduced to one lane, and detours will be marked.
For the next two weeks, 6th Street between Grand and Ouray avenues will be closed to all traffic.
Crews will be striping the following streets this week:
- Horizon Drive from H Road to 7th Street
- 12th Street from Horizon Drive to Gunnison Avenue
- 7th Street from Horizon Drive to North Avenue
- From Grand to Ute avenues
