PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO) There's no need to leave the children at home on your next tasting trip to Palisade.

Sprigs and Sprouts of Western Colorado offers an oil and balsamic vinegar tasting session safe for the whole family.

Employees drizzle some of the 60 different flavored oils and vinegars on a variety of food for tasters to enjoy.

The food can range from cheese to even coleslaw, but the children usually enjoy the sweeter options, said Linda Bailey, of Sprigs and Sprouts.

"They love the ice cream with the balsamic, which is a good substitute for chocolate because chocolate tends to make a child hyper," Bailey said.

Sprigs and Sprouts accepts walk-ins for the free tasting for groups of eight or less. For the bigger parties, employees ask they schedule ahead of time.

Sprigs and Sprouts is open seven days a week 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., but will be closed the first three weeks of November. They will reopen before Thanksgiving for the holiday season.
