Okagawa Farms to reopen Sunday after afternoon fire

ORCHARD MESA, Colo. (KKCO)-- Business is shut down after a popular produce stand in Orchard Mesa catches fire.

The Grand Junction Fire Department responded to Okagawa Farms around 2:30 Saturday afternoon on reports of a fire. Seven units and 18 firefighters worked to extinguish the fire that was in the attic of the building.

At this time, authorities are still investigating the fire, but say it could've started by a hot ember being sucked up into the attic while people were roasting chilies.

Fire crews did have to tear out part of the ceiling and say it will be a moderate financial loss. Okagawa Farms is expected to be opened for business again Sunday.
