MONTROSE, Colo. (KKCO) -- One young man is dead after a pick-up truck and a dump truck collide.

The crashed happened at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday on southbound Highway 550 in Montrose, according to Montrose County Media Relations Manager Katie Yergensen.

It's unclear how the two trucks hit each other, but the driver of the pick-up, 26-year-old Blaine A. Tankersly from Montrose, died on the scene. The Montrose County Coroner's Office says he died of multiple traumatic injuries from the collision, and his manner of death was an accident.

Yergensen says no fault has been assigned at this time. Colorado State Patrol will continue to investigate the incident.

The Montrose County dump truck driver was taken to the emergency room and released with minor injuries.
