MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) -- A woman is recovering after a vehicle she was in fell 20 feet down an embankment.
The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Colorado State Patrol officials say a Ford Expedition was traveling on Highway 139 when it lost control near mile marker 35. The SUV fell 20 feet down a hill.
Two passengers were able to escape without injury, but a woman was caught in the vehicle and had to be removed by emergency crews. She was transported to a hospital in Grand Junction with unknown injuries.
The accident is under investigation, but authorities say alcohol is not a factor in the crash.
