FRUITA, Colo. Suicide rates in Mesa County are more than double the national average, but one group is doing what they can to put a stop to it.

The depression recovery program in Fruita held a free orientation Monday night for those interested in learning how to overcome and manage life stressors.

The classes are still wide open and they say it isn't just for those who are severely depressed.

"If you want to have a fuller life, if you want to be a happier more vibrant person, if you want to have the ability to enjoy life at it's fullest, this is definitely a program you can do," says program director, Joy Norris.
