PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO) --- It's a savory tradition, as the town of Palisade kicked off their 45th annual Peach Festival downtown Thursday evening.
They started things off by hosting an ice cream social and street dance tonight on main street, followed by a concert by The Remus Tucker Band at Grande River Vineyards.
Palisade's mayor says the event is the perfect way to bring people together.
"It's kind of a shot in the arm each year to remind all of the people that live here that we are still a small caring community," says Mayor Roger Granat.
The festivities continue through Sunday the 18th with events like the peach recipe contest, peach eating contest, a car show, and the Lions Club pancake breakfast.
