GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - As 2012 comes to an end, it's time to think about your 2013 resolutions.

Some common resolutions are hitting the gym or losing those extra pounds you might have put on during the holidays.

Patrick Goldsworthy manages a Crossroads Fitness and gave some tips on making your resolution last all year.

“Don’t overdo it when you first start off because a lot of people do that and it’s just painful,” said Goldsworthy.

And one local man is all about a healthier lifestyle for the New Year.

“The goal is just to get the weight down, get the cardio up,” said Jason Snider.

Mixing up workouts also helps individuals stay dedicated throughout the year.

“You don’t want to do the same thing over and over again because it gets to be a routine to the point that you get bored,” Goldsworthy said.

Goldsworthy also suggests a balanced diet to help maintain your new lifestyle.

Eating healthier can lead to better workouts and dropping those extra holiday pounds.
