GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Most mothers remember the help they got from their nurses during their first pregnancy for many years, and on Wednesday they got a chance to thank them.
A picnic reunion at Columbine Park brought together staff from the Mesa County Health Department's Nurse-Family Partnership Program with new and old clients.
"We love getting everybody together we want the mothers to meet other moms and know that there's other people out there that are in the same position they are and have a network of people," Deeanna Christensen, Nurse-Family Partnership Program.
These nurses spend a lot of time with low income moms to support them and help them through their pregnancy.
They educate moms on health, behavioral and self-sufficiency issues.
