ASPEN, Colo. (AP) Cell phone towers that exceed Pitkin County's current 40-foot limit could be built starting next year in an effort to boost cell phone service and bring it to places with no coverage.
County commissioners said Tuesday they are willing to consider more flexibility in the land-use code to entice more cell phone carriers and companies that build towers to come to the area.
According to the Aspen Daily News, the height restriction limits tower-building companies because most of the lower towers only have capacity for one cellular and broadband carrier.
