Update: Identity of pilot in Delta plane crash released

DELTA, Colo. -- Update -- 7:20 p.m. December 2nd: The Delta County Coroner's office has released the identity of the person who was killed in the plane crash.

The pilot and only occupant of the plane was Jason Cook of Montrose.

The cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries, and the manner of death was accidental.

Friday November 29th: Just after 5:00 Friday evening, Delta County Dispatch received a 911 call about a plane going down in the area.

A small, single-engine Cessna crashed northeast of the Blake Field Airport. One fatality has been confirmed.

After 7:30, the Delta County Coroner arrived on scene.

Officials confirm the person who died was a Delta County resident.

The accident is currently under investigation.
