Plane makes emergency landing at GJ Regional Airport

A United Express Regional Jet made an emergency landing at Grand Junction Regional Airport around 10 a.m. this morning. According to Amy Jordan, Deputy Director of Administration at the airport, the plane was flying from Denver to an unknown location in California.

The plane had engine problems while in flight, forcing pilots to shut down the engine during flight and make the emergency landing in Grand Junction. Jordan said the landing was "uneventful" and safe.

The 63 passengers and four crew members on board are waiting inside Grand Junction Regional Airport to be re-routed on another plane, or return to the orginal plane if mechanics on-site can fix the engine.
