COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Police say a man was arrested after he brought a loaded handgun into the Colorado Springs airport.

The Gazette reports a Transportation Security Administration screener spotted the gun in the man's backpack Friday. Police say the man, whose name has not been released, acknowledged the gun was his and told investigators he forgot to remove it from his bag.

He has since been released from custody and booked a later flight.
