UPDATE: GJPD lifts accident alert

Update
The Grand Junction Police Department has lifted its accident alert as of 12:30 p.m.

Original Story
Slick roads and icy conditions have prompted the Grand Junction Police Department to issue an accident alert this morning.

That means any driver involved in a minor collision should report the accident at the GJPD lobby within the next 48 hours.

Call police immediately in the following incidents:

  • Accidents or hit-and-run incidents involving injury, suspected injury, or death

  • Accidents involving suspected intoxicated drivers

  • Any accident requiring towing services

  • Any accident involving city or government vehicles or property

This policy will be in place until further notice.
