Police drive past, arrest wanted man

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- A scary moment for one neighborhood Wednesday as police arrest two men on drug charges.

For police, it was a case of being in the right place at the right time as an officer drove right past a man wanted on a $75,000 drug warrant and knew exactly who he was.

Police arrested that man and another man on drug related charges at 2856 Texas Avenue. The Grand Junction Police Department and Mesa County Sheriff's Office responded, arresting the two men and giving out two additional citations to other people living in the house for possession of marijuana.

"I would say honestly good, because that's one less person I have to worry about around my kids and around everybody else's kids. I mean, there are tons of kids in this area, and none of them need to be around that," neighbor Amber White said.

Other neighbors told KKCO 11 News that they've noticed drug activity taking place at the house, and hope the arrests will make the neighborhood safer.

Neighbors said this is nothing new, and they said they've witnessed drug deals happening right in front of the playground area in the park.
